Get creative, no matter your skill level, with Creation Classes by the Haywood County Arts Council held at the Folkmoot Friendship Center in Waynesville.

Paint by using only grayscale in a wonderful exercise to train the eye to see subtle differences in values to create depth and atmosphere. This class is a great opportunity to try oils for those who have never used them. The class will go step-by-step through the landscape painting process based on a photo reference. Cost is $80.

• Flora Print Parasols: 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, with instructor Lauren A. Medford.

Learn how to create your own flower stamp and color mixing while printing on a paper parasol. The class will design a flower shape, carve a stamp, establish a color palette and then stamp a paper parasol. Participants will gain a basic understanding of relief printmaking. Cost is $70.
