Creation Classes brought to you by Haywood County Arts Council

Get creative, no matter your skill level. Classes are developed and led by HCAC artists members and span mediums such as fused glass, painting, and jewelry making.

Creation Class: Fabric Art Miniature Landscape

Class Instructor: Julie Bagamary

Class Title: Fabric Art Miniature Landscape

Class Objectives: Let’s play in my fabric bin and create an original 4″ x 6″ Textile Art Miniature Landscape. We will explore design, color placement, basic embroidery, using fusible web, and writing on fabric. It is the perfect size to frame for yourself or gift to a friend.

Creation Class: Wabi-Sabi Hand Sewing

Class Instructor: Jason Pierson

Class Title: Wabi-Sabi Hand Sewing

Class Objectives: We will create a hand-sewn, one-of-a-kind tea mat (or a set of coasters) in the rustic Japanese “wabi-sabi” style, using naturally-dyed organic fabric & thread.

Class Description: In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will learn about the “wabi-sabi” philosophy and put it into practice by making a tea mat (or 4 coasters) out of organic, naturally-dyed fabrics. The focus will be on slow, intentional stitching, while letting go of perfectionism and expectation.

Duration: 2.5 hours
