Our Creation Classes are developed and led by our talented HCAC artists, covering a variety of mediums including fused glass, painting, and jewelry making. Learn a new skill or simply unwind in a fun and engaging environment. Let your imagination run wild and create something amazing with us!
Class Objectives: Participants will paint an acrylic painting of a magical scene based on the example provided by the instructor.
Class Description: The class is for a social as well as creative experience. Participants will gather and receive instructions on the technical aspects of the painting and view a finished example and an example that the instructor will work on in real-time. Painting stations will be set up prior to class with all the supplies arranged at each place setting. Paint will be distributed after the initial instructions and will be replenished along with water as the class progresses. Brushes, paints, easels, canvasses, and water cups will be provided by the instructor. All skill levels are encouraged and welcome and the focus is on fun. Beverages will be available.

Class Title: Creative & Calm: An Introduction to Neurographic Art
Class Objectives: In this class, participants will learn the concepts and techniques of neurographic art, and will create one drawing utilizing this application.
Class Description: The class will begin with a short description of the concepts behind creating art using this technique as well as viewing some examples created by the instructor. Materials, which will consist of Sharpie markers, art board, and art markers will be distributed. A short moment of focus and intention for the piece will start the session. Neurographic drawing requires no previous art experience but can be used to great effect by both novice and skilled artists. It is a wonderfully creative practice that is both mentally relaxing and rewarding and which can help free up both creative and emotional blocks.

Description: Participants will select their wine glasses. Then, artist, Barbara Brook, will guide you through various techniques to help you design and paint unique, personalized glasses that you will cherish for years or give as gifts. All materials are provided.

Class Title: Drawing Caricatures (Humor and Art)
Class Description: Participants will learn the basics of drawing caricatures by exploring simplification, distortion, and exaggeration, as well as inking techniques and even adding color while laughing a lot! A healthy sense of humor is needed as well as very basic drawing skills. We will be using pencil and ink, as well as soft pastels.
