Creative & Calm Neurographic Drawing

Class Instructor: Sheri Friedman

Class Title: Creative and Calm – Neurographic Drawing

Class Description: For many, art is inherently therapeutic. The act of creating can be a form of self-care, and it can also inspire a sense of calmness and clarity! In this workshop you will learn what Neurographic art is and create your own meditative drawing using art markers on paper.

This process uses a drawing technique that links the conscious with the subconscious. The result is an awareness and mindfulness that helps turn stress into calm, and can inspire fresh perspectives and clarity. Neurographic art does not require any drawing skill. While we value the final product, the process of artmaking is also beneficial. Just the act of making art is good for the brain because it decreases stress levels and increases focus. Neurographic art can look abstract or realistic. It doesn’t matter what style the end result is; what matters is how one approaches the activity. The goal is to promote calmness and clarity.

Sheri will guide you as you explore the process of drawing and coloring your artwork with Sharpies and art markers. All materials will be provided, and you will take home your finished piece along with the ability to create your own Neurographic drawings anytime you want to refocus and relax.
