My subject matter is the mandala. I paint mandalas because they symbolize unity and represent our universe by mimicking the circle of life. I get much of my inspiration from nature and from the study of Cymatics (the intricate wave pattern that forms in water when sound frequencies are applied). Geometric Dotillism is my preferred style of painting. With a brush, I layer drops of fluid acrylic to create a textured dotted pattern. People find that running their fingers over the dots is somehow satisfying, even calming. In addition to painting a pretty mandala, I strive to create a pattern that tells a story. With my art, I hope to inspire a sense of connectedness to nature.
