My husband and I, along with our three dogs and a parrot, moved to Clyde last summer from the Wilmington area, where we had lived for over 30 years. It was a great decision—we love it here.
I grew up in the Charlotte area and have always made things since I was a young child. While in college studying interior design, I developed a passion for clay during an elective class. My BFA is in sculpture from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, where I worked extensively in clay. I also paint, create in stained and fused glass, and make art dolls using my sewing skills.
I am happiest when I spend the day in my studio making something. I especially enjoy clay and the possibilities and challenges it presents. I love textures and creating new ways of applying them to my pieces. I also find fulfillment in building sculptures, particularly larger ones.
