Enjoy an artful evening at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Bosu’s Wine Shop, as the Haywood County Arts Council presents a poetry reading by guest artist Philip Shabazz.
Shabazz, teaching artist and author, will share some of his poetic works and take part in a facilitated Q&A session with attendees.
“Everything is a word and words make us who we are,” said Shabazz.
Shabazz has published three poetry collections and “When the Grass Was Blue,” a novel in verse.
Shabazz is coming to town to teach the spoken word session of the youth Mountain Art and Music Camp hosted by the Haywood Arts Council.
“I love to write. I love to create. I love to express art. I use these outlets as sources for meaningful communication with audiences and students,” Shabazz said.
Bosu’s will have a diverse variety of beverages and charcuterie board options available for purchase to enjoy while taking part in this evening of spoken word artistry.
Bosu’s Wine Shop is at 138 Miller St., Waynesville. 828-452-0120.
